This is NOS (NEW, OLD, STOCK) FROM THE 70's!
In Tanganyika the Kilimanjaro Pipe Company Ltd. produced the following brands: Caveman, Countryman (Elephant logo), Kiko (Elephant logo), Kikob (Elephant logo), Kilimanjaro (Rhinoceros logo), Lumberjack, Kudu (Giraffe Logo), Makonde (Rhinoceros logo), Merlin (Flying bird or Antelope logo), Sportsman (Elephant logo), Tembo, Townsman, Twiga (Giraffe Logo), White elephant (Elephant logo).
Tanganyika and Zanzibar merged and became known as Tanzania in October of 1964. The company closed soon after.
The pipe bowl lined with genuine solid block Amboseli African meerschaum. A solid metal fitting is in the shank and attaches to the vulcanite stem. The Giraffe logo is stamped in white on the top of the stem.
Stamped "Twiga and made in Tanganyika".
SIZE = 5 1/8" LONG, 1 3/8" WIDE, 3/4" DIAMETER SMOKING CHAMBER AND 1 1/4" DEEP.
A wooded stand is included. Acrylic stand is not included and used for display purposes only.
It comes in the original box.
