Product Description:
This is one of the latest product of Gorkha Zone Khukuri House. This is totally a handcrafted premium Knives made by the black smith "Kami" a born khukuri maker. The blade of the khukuri is 28 cm long that's why it's easy to carry and good for camping or hiking. The blade has a numerous hollow groove pattern that's we call it a black tiger khukuri. Traditionally, khukuri is used for cutting a log, wood, meat, vegetable; by the Gurkhas in the war. This khukuri/ kukri is almost the size of pocket knife and it is easy to carry and can be taken anywhere while camping, hiking and as well as for carving or peeling a wood.
Rc-5160 is used for the steel and it is tempered differently in the blade in order to maximize the strength of the khukuri. The tang or the handle is attached with Rose wood by applying the Nepali Glue (Laha), scabbard is made out of pine wood inside and yak hide outside.
Precaution:
1)The blade is made out of carbon steel Rc-5160 so, it's not rust free. Any engine oil can be used to prevent rust. Sandpaper can be used to clear the rust from the steel.
2)Put your hand at the spine(mathilo bhag) or the belt(faras) of the scabbard while taking out or putting in the scabbard.
3)Use file or the blunt knife to sharp the blade, otherwise if you use a machine to sharp a steel it might alter the hardness of the steel.
