Description
Born in 1965, Sadik Yanik is a premier carver of quality Meerschaum pipes. He began carving when he was only 13 years old and quickly rose to the pinnacle of his craft. His creations constitute a wide range of creativity, often invoking the 19th century Vienna school comprising scenes with animals, battles, divinities, nature, etc. His work ranges from the simple to the highly complex, but all of them are exquisite. They consistently command prices from 0 to ,000 depending not only on the complexity but also the patina of the pipe. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena is the oldest of the college championships. For football fans, this is the perfect pipe to smoke during the Rose Bowl. Or perhaps during the Rose Parade. For those less interested in football or parades, is the pipe to smoke when communing with nature. It makes an excellent gift for Valentine's Day, a birthday or any other gift giving occasion. Whether for a smoker or collector, this pipe is be treasured.
This Rose pipe dates from the early 1990's and as you can see, Yanik had already perfected his art. It depicts
a sleeved hand holding a rose. As with all his work, the detail is marvelous to behold. The layers of the rose petals are as perfect as the most beautiful of roses, and the petals, themselves, are just as smooth as the silkiest natural petals. Nothing is overlooked. The fingernails are precise and even the knuckles have lines.
This pipe has only been smoked twice and has fortunately begun to show the age coloration that is so prized in Meerschaum pipes.
As mentioned above, it is signed, and in its original custom fitted case.
