OLD Meerschaum P&J brand tall Bulldog pipe Amber? w/ fitted case Stock # MB36

Description

This is a really beautiful P&J that was made in
Turkey, Stock #MB36.
This is a HAND CARVED BLOCK Meerschaum from My friend Jessie's pipe collection.
It comes with the original fitted case so We know what brand it is.
This has been smoked some but it has been well cared for and it is quite old.
Jessie is no longer here to give Me more information about it so all I can do is describe it.
This pipe is
beautiful with a basic tall Bulldog shape, and the top half of the bowl is Meerschaum,
but the bottom half is something else, maybe Amber,  I just don't know, but it's very  smooth  and
shiny and a Caramel color that is translucent like the stem which could be Amber but I'd guess
it's more likely to be Redmanol, and the whole pipe is free of any bad marks, not even  tooth
scratches, and a clue to the age is the old Case and the steel screw it has for a tenon.
I see Jessie has wrapped some teflon tape around the screw so the stem  clocks correctly,
and the pipe as a whole is very attractive.
I looked inside the  bowl to see how these dissimilar materials come together.
I see that the bowl depth  is only 1/10th of an  inch deeper than the height  on the outside,
so this means the Meerschaum  bowl is sitting on top of the translucent bottom half of the  pipe
and it doesn't unscrew with VERY light pressure and after wrecking 2 other Meerschaum pipes,
I'm not going to twist on it
enough to see if it will  unscrew or not.
My problem is ... I am a Briar Guy, I know briar pipes and I have very little experience with
Meerschaum pipes. Out of the last 3 Meerschaum pipes I've messed with, I broke two of them
trying to unscrew a tenon to re-clock them, so I'm not going to mess with  them, I'll just sell
them as they came and let YOU Monkey with  them.
