I present to your attention a Soviet-era Machete.
A knife-machete from the NAZ-7 of the USSR Air Force (a wearable aviation reserve), was used by Soviet military pilots (flight personnel) as an emergency tool after ejecting to the terrain for personal self-defense, performing work and survival tasks (harvesting firewood, materials for a shelter, raft, cutting down thickets, etc.) until the end of the search work.
It has two working edges along the length and from the end of the blade for side and straight blows. It has a weight calculated by the developers, which allows it to be used comfortably for its intended purpose and does not critically affect the total weight of all equipment. The case opens from the side with Velcro and has loops for attaching to a wide and narrow belt.
