Lectern or Podium Frontal Handmade IHS Sacred Monogram Freesia Embroidery Leaves

Description

This beautiful hand made liturgical fabric piece was designed as a frontal for the lectern or podium in the sanctuary of a church from which the Epistles and Gospels are proclaimed at Mass, or where homilies are given, and for other Ecclesiastical services also. It is made of triple reinforced white silk fabric with the letters of the Sacred Monogram of the Name of Jesus ( I H S) on the front center in raise metallic gold- with two panels running vertically on either side in alternating square embroidered gold crosses and yellow orange freesias as added decoration. This is fringed along the  bottom edge.
There are four white fabric loops sewn onto the reverse top, 7/8” in diameter, through which a strut may be inserted so that the frontal may be displayed banner-like, for  hanging on any display surface. Size dimensions are 29 3/4” long, not including the 1 5/8” wide yellow gold fringe at the bottom, and it is 20” wide.
Condition is graded as Fine to Very Fine- probably once used but very gently- one negligible pin rust mark on top right hand corner front- hardly noticeable- all else Near Mint condition.
