    Large Antique 19th Century Block Meerschaum Tobacco Pipe Bowl, Silver Victorian
    Ornate Antique 19th Century Block Meerschaum Tobacco Pipe Bowl.
    This antique meerschaum smoking pipe bowl is unsigned, but presumed to have
    been made
    in Germany or Austria in approximately 1900.
    The body of the pipe is composed of meerschaum and has silver mounts.
    The silver is not hallmarked but believed to be 800 silver (it is untested).
    The silver hinged top has a clip mechanism that secures it to the pipe body.
    The pipe is missing the mouthpiece/stem, but I was told they are available on
    the used market.
    It has a good weight at 14.5 ounces. Measures approx. 7" x 4".
    No maker’s mark.
    Looks to be in good solid condition and the hinge and clasp work fine.
    There are no chips. When looking at the body with a loop, I see hairline
    cracks; You can see some of them when using the zoom feature.
    All fittings are firmly attached.
    Sold "as is". Great patina!!
