Boxed is marked "Johnson Universal Unit Enlarger Negative Carrier", contents are as shown, a 35mm film negative carrier sandwich (two pieces), a spring loaded tray the carrier set sits onto and two pieces of clear glass cut the same as the carrier. We don't have any direct experience with a Johnson enlarger but we suspect the glass sandwiched the negative, the metal carriers sandwiched the glass/negative sandwich and all that sits in the spring loaded carrier.
