Handmade Vintage Clerical Cassock Larger Size Wide Collar 15 Button Front Fine

Description

A handmade vintage clerical cassock is offered here, probably circa 1950s/60s in age and on the larger size, with wide and ample collar and a 15 button front. This garment might have been made to order for a priest or seminarian of a Catholic religious order; there is no information on the piece as to designer or manufacturer.
This cassock should fit a medium to larger sized person. It measures 57 ½ long from back neck center to skirt bottom, with a 9 1/2” diameter wide collar, 18 ” across at the shoulder tops and 21” across from seam to seam at the chest. The waist measures size 38-40, and the arms are 19 “ long, measured from underarm seam to outer cuff edge. The 15 buttons are black resin, each 5/8” in diameter.
Other features include two pocket openings at either side and a nicely pleated back and rear. The fabric looks to be a cotton wool blend and the garment is graded in Fine condition: used, but with no imperfections of note.
