    Description

Graseby Specac 40810 Hg Lamp Control & Power Supply
For sale- a lot of Graseby/Specac equipment as pictured.
There are a couple of pieces that are somewhat identifiable, specifically the first piece pictured is a Graseby Specac part number 40810, which would appear to be a mercury (Hg) lamp power supply/controller.
Unfortunately I do not have the mercury lamp to go with it.
Hard to say what might have happened to it.
Connected to the controller was a Parker Motion & Control T0193 Digiplan Transformer.
When you power up the 40810 nothing happens but as you can see when you push the lamp START button the voltage indicator goes up some and when you flip the STEP MOTOR switch you can hear the transformer humming.
And yet a third part, a rack of four plug-ins.
One of those modules is a Zicon Electronics ZE200-527 power supply.
The other three as far as I can determine are unidentified, I even went so far as to pull one hoping maybe there would be a label on the side and when that wasn’t the case I opened it up and nothing jumps out at me, just a small power supply and a circuit board with very little in the way of markings.
I would guess that all of this (it was all in one rack, I pulled it so that I didn’t have to haul the rack as well) was supporting some sort of Specac spectrometer or other optical system.
I purchased a couple of heavy as lead aluminum cases out of which the only thing salvageable was a Specac mirror that I already have listed, and at that same auction was a QMC Instruments TK1840 Liquid Helium Cyrostat/Interferometer that I bought that had the Specac logo on it.
That has already been sold but the mirror is still listed, maybe that will give you some idea of what sort of system this stuff was supporting.
Untested, sold as is, and NO warranty is offered.
However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.
Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.
Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed.
Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs.
Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.
As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk.
If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways.
If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it.
In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.
After sorting through the various cables I should note that I do have the cable that would go from the Lamp Controller to the lamp itself.  Please check out my

    Check back often!
Sold as is, as described, as pictured.
Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.
Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.
If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.
Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.
Payment is expected within 7 days of the close of the sale and I need to hear from you within 3 days to confirm the transaction.
Because of the weight and/or bulk of the item I have chosen to let ebay’s shipping calculator figure out the cost based on your zip code.
It would be shipping from 27948 in a box presumed to be 70 pounds.
The various pieces total up to about 51 pounds actual weight, so it probably won’t weigh a full 70, but it may well end up shipping in 3 boxes and that costs more.
If you don’t want one of the pieces no doubt I can trim something off the shipping cost.
If the device being offered here requires a standard modular computer style AC cord I NO LONGER ship those automatically as most people have accumulated a box of them by now.
IF you need such an AC cord please request one when the item is purchased.
