Powers on without incident and has instructions on the front panel of the spectrophotometer. Made by Cole Parmer, I guarantee it will not be DOA! This device has 4 modes; T (Transmittance), A (Absorabance), C (Concentration), and F (Factor), with a model indicator light and a mode button. There are arrow up (OA/100% T) and an arrow down (0% T) buttons. A print (ENT) button and a wavelength control knob with a readout indicator right next to it. Next to it is a sample compartment for 10mm test tubes or 10mm square cuvettes. On the rear of the machine is an RS-232 interface. Included is a hospital grade power cord and a service manual which has directions on how to work the device. Overall, a nice piece of equipment. The UNICO® Model 1100 Series spectrophotometers are single beam general purpose instruments designed for use in conventional laboratories. The instruments are ideal for various applications such as: Clinical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food and Beverage Laboratories, Environmental Protection, Water and Waste Water Labs, and other fields of quality control.
The UNICO® 1100 Series spectrophotometers cover the visible wavelength range from 335 nm to 1000 nm. The analytical grating system has 1200 lines/mm for higher dispersion of the spectrum. Figure 1-1.1 and Figure 1-1.2 show Model 1100 and Model 1100RS respectively.
