Auctioning this beautiful, vintage carved meerschaum pipe by Artist Ismail.
Ismail was an exceptional carver who died winter of 2012 at 77 years. When he was a teenager he started to train at the first Turkish carver's ( Osman Deniz Kopugu) pipe work shop. He was very talented so before long he became a good carver. After he came back from the army he opened his own workshop. He was very good at carving human bodies and faces. He taught carving to educate the young talented carvers and during the years he became very popular especially in the United States .
Here is one of his super rare, one-of-a-kind hand carved work of art pipes!

As you can see in the pictures, this pipes is fairly large. 1 piece solid block meerschaum bowl. Compared to coca-cola can in photos for size reference.
I am not positive what material the mouthpiece is made of but it has gorgeous coloring and can be twisted off of the pipe.
Please note, this pipe is a vintage item and has been smoked out of - buyer may want to have cleaned. No chips or cracks.
The carving is of a bearded man wearing a turban.
Comes as pictured in form fitted hard case.
