Altar Boy Surplice Vintage '50s Sheer Fabric Silk Ribbons IHS Chalice Embroidery

We are pretty sure this is a vintage, circa 1950s surplice handmade for a Catholic Altar Boy, composed of sheer lace fabric to go over a solid color cassock when assisting at Mass or other liturgical functions.
It is sleeveless, with center opening on the front to which has been attached white silk ribbons for tying in a bow at the center.
This is a well-made garment with lace edging to the vee slashed front, scalloped edges on the bottom and decorated with embroidered IHS Sacred Monogram of the Name of Jesus and Eucharistic chalice designs completely encircling the skirt.
The little surplice measures only 20“ long from mid -shoulder to lowest scalloped edge; skirt flares to 34“ wide, and the chest portion measures 15“ across from one edge of shoulder to the other. The arm openings measure 13“ diameters.
It is Graded in FINE condition with no tears, stains or any other imperfections noted- a collectible, unusual and charming liturgical fabric accessory.
