Description
This listing is for a complete GC/MS/MS based on the 5973N model and Triple Axis Detector using MassHunter, upgraded to MS/MS. It includes the 6890 GC with SSL and MSD Interface, but no autosampler. We can upgrade any Agilent 5977, 5975 or 5973 MSD to a GC-MS/MS, GC QQQ or tandem MS system called EVOLUTION. Find out more here:https://www.autosamplerguys.com/evolution
Do you already have an existing 5973, 5975 or 5977 in your lab? Are you considering buying a MS/MS? Why not upgrade your existing unit? For ,000 plus installation you can add MS/MS to your capabilities to tackle new challenges.
Any analysis with difficult matrices will benefit from the MS/MS upgrade. Consider analyses for anti-doping, forensics, and drug testing; of pesticide and herbicide residues in food or marijuana, biomarkers in oil exploration, dioxin traces, and PCBs in feed and food. If sample cleanup is hampering your limit of detection, the second quad will do the work for you.
What does a GC/MS/MS do?
When a second phase of mass fragmentation is added, a second quadrupole behind an existing Agilent quadrupole MSD, it is called tandem MS (MS/MS). MS/MS is better suited to quantifying low levels of target compounds such as pesticides, drugs of abuse, and biomarkers in the presence of a high sample matrix background.
To be more precise, the first quadrupole (Quad 1), in our case the existing Agilent MSD quad, is connected by means of a 90-degree collision cell (Quad 2) and another quadrupole (Quad 3) made by CHROMTECH GmbH. Both quadrupoles can be used in scanning or static mode, depending on the type of MS/MS analysis being performed. Types of analysis include product ion scans, precursor ion scans, multiple reaction monitoring or MRM and neutral loss scans.
Here is a typical procedure to develop a method for one compound of interest:
When Quad 1 is in static mode (looking at one mass only as in SIM), and Quad 3 is in scanning mode, you obtain a so-called product ion spectrum (also called "daughter spectrum"). From this spectrum, you can select a prominent product ion (possibly one which is not dominant in the matrix), which is the product ion for the precursor ion you choose. The pair is called a "transition" and forms the basis for MRM. MRM is highly specific and virtually eliminates matrix background entirely.
Are you compliant with the EPAs feed, food, food crops or marijuana import and export regulations?
Are you looking for one of the following 820 pesticides or herbicides? If so, the Evolution GC/MS/MS has you covered. You don’t need to develop a method, just prepare your sample and get your result. PestiMate MRM library has the following compounds in its library:
